We have been doing a lot of charitable missions over the years and in every mission, we give our love to the people.
One of these memorable events was in Vietnam on 9th September, 2021 where 56 volunteers from Saigon, Canada, USA, Africa, Australia and Malaysia went on a charity trip to the poor countryside of the Mekong River Delta to help.
With the assistance of the Pastor, Assistant Father and the Community of An Chau Parish, we visited the community of An Chau. Hoa Phu Đao Village in Canals, Canals of the Holy House and the poor Khmer people in Khac Ca Dao.
We provided gifts to 800 children, clothes for parents, 200 gifts for single elderly with no family, two bicycles, household gifts for poor students, 4,000 student notebooks, pens and school bags. Our volunteers also financed the cost of food and transportation costs for the 3 day trip and hosted a wonderful Children’s Day with food and gifts.
As seen from the photos, the people were filled with love, happiness and joy. We can feel their hearts by looking into their eyes. These people have gone through severe poverty and hardship in their lives and quite often they have been neglected by the society.
We give these people hope for a better future and it’s a joy to make them smile, that is the mission of Hopensmiles.
